January, 1997
Years ago Jan found this antique quilt, which has a stamped inscription SAS.COM on it. Having been to the American Quilt Study Group conference in 1985 she knew that meant the Civil War Sanitary Commission. This is one of the very few surviving quilts of tens of thousands given to Civil War soldiers.
At AQSG's seminar at the end of September in New Jersey, Lorie Chase is going to give a paper called "The Dublin Quilt" about Jan and this quilt.
