Mountain Picnic Pattern

Last week-end was the Sierra Mountain Quilt Guilds Quilt Show.. Here I am in my booth that I shared with my friend Julie. My friend Kathy and I designed the Mountain Picnic design for an Adult Ed. 6 week class.. When we were asked to give the class, we decided that we wanted something that they could finish in the 6 weeks and still be interesting for beginners as well as accomplished quilters.

Since I am selling the Paper Pieces, Kathy and I designed this pattern that includes piecing, machine or hand applique, English Paper Piecing, or can be adapted to fusing.. We also encouraged the ladies to place the appliqued blocks where they would like them. We showed how to add beading, and yoyo's if they wanted.

I show the four that were displayed by a couple of the ladies at the quilt show on my Creates Blog, and we also sold our patterns. Paper Pieces also showed the quilts in Paducah and sold several of the patterns.. Exciting!

I will be teaching English Paper Piecing.. Does any one have a block or two of the older techniques with the paper in them? Do you know where I could buy a sample or so, or who I could contact? I don't want to buy a whole quilt, just a few of the older samples to show in a class.
I have checked some of the antique stores in our area.. we are very rural, not much here.
